“Allison began working with an autistic student in my classroom last summer. She has been instrumental in helping this student to reach social and emotional age appropriate developmental milestones as well as in cultivating a trusting relationship with his parents. Allison’s guidance has truly helped him to thrive. Her knowledge and wonderful way of being has also given my assistant teacher and I the support we needed to fully understand his needs as well as to help us to strike the right balance of discipline. Allison truly became an integral part of our classroom. I have worked with young children both as an education director and teacher for over 20 years, and I feel that she is a rare find. Her level of patience and dedication has been exemplary, and I hope to have the opportunity to work with her again.”
“Allison was my son’s SEIT, for 4 years for nursery and pre-k, and has continued to work with him into his elementary school years. She now works with us privately and is able to provide excellent services within the home to make sure he is meeting all his academic and behavioral goals. She is absolutely excellent and she has brought my son to where he is today!!! She has patience. She is sweet, loving, caring and really gets him to focus so he can learn. They formed a bond and special connection and he looks forward to her sessions all the time. I highly recommend her!!!!! We are very fortunate to have her in our life for our son!!!”
“Allison worked as the ABA therapist for my son. She began working with him when he was 22 months of age. At that time, he was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder by a developmental psychologist. He was essentially non-verbal, with poor eye contact and little interest in communicating with his family members/peers. Due in large part to Allison’s efforts, my son made tremendous progress in all of these areas in a very short period of time. She saw him in our home 14 hours a week. During those times I have observed that Allison has excellent communication and organization skills. She always comes to work with a plan and is able to adjust goals/tasks given our son’s mood and interest. She is very responsive to feedback from myself as well as from my son’s other therapists (we met for monthly family meetings to discuss his progress). She is a team player, and always acts in the best interest of her client. These aptitudes set Allison apart as a strong leader and advocate for her clients. I am a busy physician at an academic hospital in Manhattan and have taught many residents and fellows in the past few years. Allison is a true gem, and given her passion for special education, her experience, and her personal qualities/skills, I highly recommend her.”
